Tara Uzra Dawood, CEO, 786 Investments (Formerly, Dawood Capital Management Limited), was presented by Chief Guest, Shazia Syed, an award from Pakistan Stock Exchange in recognition of the company’s strong female representation on the Board. 786 Investments has 3 female directors including two former bank Presidents.
W-Corporate Enlistment Awards were presented to companies that have appointed women directors at their board positions. The awards given were based on the findings of the Women on Boards’s annual research report titled “Women in Boardrooms”. Research from different companies highlight the fact that only 21 companies out of 559 listed companies on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) have a woman director as a board member and only 32 independent women directors are part of company boards. Therefore, this “Gong Ceremony” was held by PSX to express solidarity with the cause of promoting women’s inclusiveness and mainstreaming on top corporate leadership positions-an agenda being advanced by Women on Board (WOB) Pakistan.
